Position Reports to: Head of CityKids
Position Overview:
The Director of Education oversees the educational vision and execution of CityKids programs for children ages birth to six across all branches in Israel. This role involves mentoring staff, guiding curriculum development, supporting Early Childhood Education (ECE) Directors, and ensuring CityKids’ philosophy is reflected in every aspect of the learning environment. The Director of Education serves as the pedagogical leader, fostering excellence in play-based, child-centered education while advocating for the professional growth of educators.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
Collaborate with the Head of CityKids to implement a cohesive educational strategy across all branches for children aged birth to six.
Support ECE Directors in aligning practices and curriculum with the CityKids philosophy and Ministry of Education standards.
Serve as the key communicator between branch teams and the Head of CityKids to ensure educational consistency and adherence to policies.
Educational Support & Pedagogy
Oversee the design and implementation of developmentally appropriate, play-based curricula that reflect the needs of children from birth to six.
Guide educators in supporting social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development in alignment with child-centered learning practices.
Offer mentorship and expertise to ensure innovative, evidence-based teaching approaches are consistently applied.
Regularly observe classroom practices to assess teaching strategies, interactions, and the learning environment, providing constructive feedback to educators for continuous improvement.
Lead reflective dialogues with educators to deepen understanding of child development and the CityKids philosophy.
Staff Development
Provide individualized coaching and mentorship for ECE Directors and teachers to enhance professional growth.
Plan and facilitate professional learning opportunities to equip staff with tools to support children across the birth-to-six age range.
Foster a culture of collaboration, growth, and creativity among the teaching staff.
Compliance and Quality Assurance
Ensure programs meet or exceed Ministry of Education standards and regulations for ages birth to six.
Conduct regular evaluations of educational quality and provide actionable feedback to ECE Directors and educators.
Promote inclusivity by ensuring that children of all abilities are fully supported in their learning and development.
Community Engagement
Build and maintain strong partnerships with families to support their involvement in their children’s learning journeys.
Represent CityKids at events, conferences, and stakeholder meetings to promote high-quality early education for children ages birth to six.

Qualifications:
Certified Pedagogical Advisor for ages birth to six per Ministry of Education standards.
MA in Early Childhood Education
Significant experience in early childhood education, including curriculum development and teacher mentorship.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage diverse teams.
Strong commitment to the CityKids philosophy and play-based, child-centered learning.
Excellent organizational and communication skills in Hebrew and English
Certified Pedagogical Advisor for ages birth to six per Ministry of Education standards.
MA in Early Childhood Education
Significant experience in early childhood education, including curriculum development and teacher mentorship.
